Castelluccio 🌼
Perched atop a steep hill 5,000 feet above sea level, Castelluccio is the highest village in the Apennine Mountain Range. Known for its fabulous lentils, the village comes alive from May through July when the fields bloom with brightly colored flowers, including poppies and violets. Although a 2016 earthquake left the village virtually uninhabitable, some residents have re-opened shops and restaurants for visitors.
